The unified Marketplace rules are scheduled to take effect on July 14. Creators who upload 2D or 3D avatar items will need ID verification or a linked parent account, and the upload cost will be 200 Robux per item. Roblox says the change is intended to close verification and financial gaps that bad actors could use to avoid moderation.
Classic 2D clothing will also move to the same economics as 3D avatar items. Roblox says a creator receives 30% of a sale, while an experience owner can receive 40% when the item is sold inside that experience; Roblox retains the standard 30%. A creator who both makes the item and owns the selling experience can receive both creator and experience-owner shares.
