Roblox announced the full release of Server Authority on July 9 after months of beta testing. With the setting enabled, the server becomes the single source of truth for game state, so common exploits such as speed hacks, flings and wall clips stop working at the engine level instead of relying on custom anti-cheat scripts.

Latency is masked by client prediction and rollback: the client executes actions immediately, and if its state diverges from the server, it rewinds to the last confirmed state and resimulates. Since the beta, Roblox says mispredictions are rarer, framerates on low-end devices have improved, and tools and backpacks are fully supported. Enabling the feature in Studio automatically switches five engine settings, including fixed simulation and instance streaming.
