Roblox Adds Scale, Rig and Track Controls to Animation Imports
The new dialog appears after choosing From File and selecting an animation. It also resizes with the editor window and adds a scrollbar when space is limited, bringing previously separate import steps into one workflow.
Updated:
Rig Scale can correct a mismatch between an animation’s units and Roblox studs or apply a direct scale factor. Rest Pose Source is no longer locked to the first frame of the first track: creators can choose another track, use the imported rig, or use that rig with all bone rotations zeroed.
Rig Type explicitly marks an import as R15 or Custom. R15 connects to Roblox systems such as humanoids and emotes, while Custom is intended for non-humanoid characters. Track Selection imports only the chosen animation track from a multi-track file.
Why it matters
The update removes repetitive setup for animation-heavy models and gives creators a precise place to resolve scale and rest-pose errors before editing. Roblox defines one stud as 0.28 meters, or 11.02 inches, which is the reference behind the new scale control.
